Decide and Climb: Mastering Your Onsight

Often climbers think that a long endurance route where you can rest and review the steps beforehand is the best for OS. I don't entirely agree. When climbing an OS attempt, you should try to climb as fast and as decisively as if you had trained the route perfectly. That means you should try to decide immediately how to climb through a difficult spot and trust that you have found the right way. It's risky, but it's the only way to get the best results! At the same time, try to preview the route in the best possible manner, watching which holds are white from magnesium and which footholds are blackened by climbing shoes.
